I am a a consultant at Climate Focus, where I lead and support projects related to land use, ecosystem restoration, climate change mitigation, and carbon crediting.
Before joining Climate Focus, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Yale School of the Environment and in the Department of Earth System Science at the University of California Irvine, where I worked with Professor Paulo Brando. My research focused on understanding the feedbacks between climate and tropical ecosystems and how these feedbacks can be disrupted by global environmental change.
I completed my PhD in Ecological Sciences and Engineering from Purdue University, under the instruction of Prof. Jeffrey S. Dukes. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Ecology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia). I received my Master's degree from Purdue University majoring in Computer and Information Technology.
